Imagine that you are in a classroom or a meeting. The teacher or the meeting leader says something incorrect. In your opinion, which of the following is the best thing to do? 1. Interrupt and correct the mistake right away; 2. Wait until the class or meeting is over and the people are gone, and then talk to the teacher or meeting leader; 3. Say nothing.

It is common for people to make mistakes in presentation or discussion since we are not flawless. Whether it is comfortable to interrupt and correct the mistake, wait until the meeting is over, or say nothing can be weighed in many aspects. In my opinion, I prefer to correct the mistake immediately in the situation. We will discuss the reasons below.

Admittedly, some people might hold a point that it is better to notify the person who made mistakes in a meeting after all people are gone. Because correcting the mistake in the absence of crowds can avoid making the speaker feel uncomfortable and embarrassed. However, correcting the mistake right away has two advantages.

First of all, in a typical situation, the disaster in the end usually is comprised of small mistakes from corners. It is a chain consequence that mistakes accumulate to be insurmountable. For example, during the academic pursuits in university education, students will have many opportunities to cooperate with people from different backgrounds to achieve the class requirement and carry out many discussions. In this process, students might make mistakes when sharing ideas and conducting the project. If all team members ignore those mistakes from their leader, the team usually fail the class and implement the project in the wrong direction. Moreover, the disaster in this situation will be affecting their academic performance. Therefore, I suggest that people should point out problems right way instead of leading the situation into a catastrophe.

On the other hand, interrupting and correcting the mistake can hone young people’s courage and attitude. For example, our youngsters are important for a society in the future since they might become scientists, artists, governors, and so on. Moreover, They will make significant contributions to the country. However, if they do not possess the ability to point out and correct the problems in groups, they will become unreliable and facilitate corruption and irreversible problems. For example, in the government conference, if our officers cannot point out the mistakes made by governors immediately, our citizens may expose to potential risks in any field of society. Therefore, we should educate people to be courageous and positively to correct the problems of leaders.

To sum up, I support the idea that we should not wait until everything is too late. Based on my expositions mentioned above, correcting the mistake right away can prevent further problems. Moreover, we should encourage young people to have such an attitude to make a better society.
